With thousands of members at the primary and secondary education levels, the JKA teaches its students the values of karate and ensures they apply these teachings in their lives. The JKA offers numerous programs for children. Since the 26th All Japan Karate Championship in 1983, tournaments have been held in Japan in both youth (ages 6-18) and adult categories. Additionally, the Shoto World Cup Karate Championship tournaments for youth continue to be held. Furthermore, national Karate championships for school-aged youth are hosted at the Tokyo JKA central dojo.
Karate for Children

Karate has many benefits that positively influence children's early development. "Chiiku" (mental development), "tokuiku" (moral development), and "taiiku" (physical development) are some of these benefits. These three aspects are the same as those used in traditional educational systems for human development.
According to "chiiku" (mental development), Karate promotes development in concentration, focus, clear thinking, and determination. In terms of "tokuiku" (moral development), Karate offers powerful internal benefits such as patience, discipline, tolerance, understanding, and open-mindedness. It helps foster self-confidence, personal control, increased calmness, peace, and favor, all of which assist individuals in overcoming challenges in life. Regarding "taiiku" (physical development), Karate is also highly beneficial for the human body. It is very helpful for the formation of a strong heart, solid bones, and muscle development. By increasing endurance, it strengthens the body and makes it more resistant to illness and injury. From this perspective, Karate helps young people cope with the many challenges they face in today’s society. It provides balance and perspective at the times they need it most and lays a strong foundation for their character.
